Australia-based StayWell Hospitality Group has launched its first hotel in India, with the objective to open a further six properties across the sub-continent within the next nine months.
The new Leisure Inn Grand Chanakya Jaipur is situated in India’s largest state, Rajasthan, catering for both business and leisure travellers.
The opening of the hotel will see the re-launch of the iconic Rajasthani specialty restaurant, Grand Chanakya, while the new rooftop Arya Bar & Grill will provide guests open air ambience.
Chanakya Hospitality are especially pleased with the re-launch of the famed restaurant.
“We are very nostalgic at the re-opening of the iconic and heritage restaurant Grand Chanakya, which used to be a landmark of the city and will now once again continue to be so,” Chanakya Hospitality director Ashok Odhrani said.
The Leisure Inn will contain 52 rooms and additional facilities including a massage room, business centre, gymnasium and complimentary internet access.
“With the launch of the Leisure Inn Grand Chanakya in Jaipur our growing reputation and brand presence will place us well for further property developments not only in India but also globally,” StayWell Hospitality chief executive and group managing director Simon Wan said.
“We are well under way to have six more properties opening in Gurgaon, Mumbai, Greater Noida, Raipur, Hyderabad and Goa within the next nine months and aim to have 25 properties across all key cities in India by 2015,” StayWell Hospitality managing director India Rohit Vig said.
