Travelport Malaysia staged a charity treasure hunt on the weekend with more than 150 travel agents, airline customers, family and friends around the streets of Kuala Lumpur. The charity event featured cryptic questions, solving puzzles and a supermarket challenge, and was dedicated to raising funds for the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society Malaysia, a centre that assists children, young people and senior citizens in need.
Thirty teams took part in the treasure hunt and were each given spending money from Travelport to buy supplies for Ti-Ratana in the supermarket challenge. At the end of the challenge, teams gathered at the Ti-Ratana Home for lunch and prizes, hosted by Travelport Country Manager Malaysia, Jason Ong, and Travelport Vice President & Regional Managing Director-Asia Pacific, Patrick Andres. In addition to the necessities purchased at the supermarket, the Travelport Singapore and Malaysian offices raised over $5,000 (RM) worth of donations.
Patrick Andres says, “We were delighted with the turnout for such a wonderful charity event on Saturday. Our guests had nothing but favourable comments, and everyone loved the idea of having fun for a good cause. We are proud that we could represent the travel industry and offer assistance to the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society.”
