Amadeus has revealed the ‘top three’ priorities for travel agents in China, revealing technological innovations as a key priority in growing business.
During the ‘Shaping the Duture of Travel in China 2013’ workshop series, 300 Amadeus-connected Chinese travel agents revealed their top three priorities; delivering more travel options to clients, access to the right technology and improving online sales strategies.
93 percent of travel agents surveyed suggested that technology could potentially advance their business in an industry climate where they feel pressure from competitors’ pricing, business costs and insufficient technology.
In addition, 69 percent of participants said their clients’ top expectation was more choice when catering to diverse needs, ranking over lower fares and top-quality service, while over 90 percent said online sales were instrumental to their business strategy.
“The insights delivered at these exclusive workshops are very valuable to us as we look to develop and deliver products and services beneficial to our customers’ needs,” Amadeus China managing director Bart Tompkins said.
“China is arguably one of the fastest-growing and most important markets for travel in the world today, and travel professionals here are now recognising the importance of investing in technology to capture growth and take their business to the next level.”
