Malaysia Airlines and Australian travel insurance provider Cover-More have expanded their partnership into India and New Zealand, with Europe and China on the way in 2014.
Cover-More’s agreement with the Southeast Asian carrier includes the integration of the insurer’s new proprietary optimisation platform, Impulse, into Malaysia Airlines’ booking system.
“Our Impulse platform integrates seamlessly with Malaysia Airlines’ booking engine, and the recent enhancements mean passengers are offered travel insurance that is even more closely tailored to their individual needs and type of journey,” Cover-More director of sales Carole Tokody said.
The platform is cloud-hosted and works in real time to match customer profiles with packages.
“This expansion is the next phase in our partnership, and in 2014 we will also offer our customers in Europe and China travel insurance and medical assistance protection when they book a flight with us,” Malaysia Airlines senior vice president global sales and distribution Duncan Bureau said.
Malaysia Airlines began their five-year partnership with Cover-More in late 2012.
