Vietnamese Contemporary Art Exhibition

This exhibition presents an Asian perspective of the world, showcasing contemporary paintings by 53 year old Vietnamese artist Hong Viet Dung, and works by up-and-coming young Vietnamese talents, namely Tran Quang Huan, Pham Hoang Anh, Nguyen Hai Anh, Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong, Do Ngoc Cuong and Le Anh Can.

Hong Viet Dung’s works have been exhibited at top galleries in Vietnam, auctioned at Sotheby’s and Christies and are collected by museums and private collectors globally. Using only pale and muted colors, Hong manages to depict the calmness of life by creating a still reflection of his own introspective nature. His paintings successfully manage to extract the essence of his emotions and emote them unto the viewer. Together with the other young talents, Galerie Nguyen and Viet Art Galerie have made a name for themselves at professional auctions and international-classed exhibitions in top five-star hotels in Vietnam and global exhibitions.

Ode to Art – ‘Nature at Play’

Nature at Play is an exhibition featuring two collections, Tree Top Memories and Replaying Childhood by Chinese contemporary artists, Xie Ai Ge and Zhang Jian Long respectively.

Tree Top Memories is a series of sixteen trees and mountain sculptures done over the last two years. Encapsulating the charm of bittersweet memories where nature and human were in osmosis, Xie’s sculptures engage us to feel the deep connection and understanding between nature and humans.

Replaying Childhood comprises of eighteen sculptures that reflect the innocent perspective of the world of a young child that is free from all the pollution, while conveying a fresh take on modern civilization due to the rise of rapid modernization in the push for development. Zhang’s sculptures attempts to remind us of our natural state, making us remember the simplicity of life and of the joys we can find beyond the limitations of society.

Visitors to the exhibition at ION Art are invited to an exclusive meet and greet with Xie Ai Ge at the exhibition’s reception at 7pm on 25th March and get her autograph.
