Singapore Airlines has released its July 2014 operating statistics, with system-wide passenger carriage stable and capacity (as measured by Available Seat Kilometres) was down by one per cent.
Passenger Load Factor (PLF) for the month was 0.9 per cent higher to 81.7 per cent while the number of passengers increased by 1.6 per cent year-on-year to 1.6 million.
The airline group improved its PLF across all regions accept for the Americas due to higher passenger carriage during summer and the change in demand for flying from the Indonesian major holiday of Lebaran.
The Group’s LCC carrier, Silk Air, increased its passenger carriage by 5.9 per cent and its passenger capacity by 5.4 per cent, with PLF improved 0.4 per cent as a result.
In terms of the performance of the Group’s cargo assets, overall cargo load factor improved to 62.5 per cent and its overall capacity reduction was 4.8 per cent.
