InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has announced the opening of a new Holiday Inn Express Surabaya Center Plaza in Indonesia’s second largest city of Surabaya.
The 236-room property is the first Holiday Inn Express hotel to open in the East Java capital and the sixth in Indonesia, following successful back-to-back openings since the brand launched in the country in November 2013.
IHG chief operating officer Asia Middle East and Africa Alan Watts, said that since the brand was launched in Indonesia a year ago, IHG has opened an average of one Holiday Inn Express hotel in Indonesia every two months.
“The brand has been extremely popular with travellers looking for a fuss-free and uncomplicated stay when traveling for work or play, travellers can now look forward to the Holiday Inn Express experience in some of Indonesia’s best and most convenient locations,” Mr Watts said.
Holiday Inn Express Surabaya Center Plaza is situated in the heart of Surabaya’s city centre, just a 30-minute drive from Juanda International Airport and a stone’s throw away from the city’s Central Business District (CBD).
Also close by are some of Surabaya’s major city attractions such as Kayoon Park where tourists can visit the gardens at Kayoon Flower Market or try out a variety of exciting water sports along the Kayoon River.
Holiday Inn Express Surabaya Center Plaza is the tenth Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Southeast Asia and the sixth in Indonesia,
