Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has debuted its eco-friendly Element brand in Asia Pacific with the opening of Element Suzhou Science and Technology Town in Suzhou, China.
The hotel is aimed at healthy and active travellers, providing them with smart and sustainable accommodation.
Starwood senior vice president of specialty select brands Brian McGuinness says the Element brand redefines sustainable tourism.
“On track to triple its global portfolio by the end of 2017, Element is experiencing tremendous growth momentum and the brand’s debut in Asia Pacific is set to pave the way for more growth opportunities in the region,” Mr McGuinness said.
The hotel features 188 rooms and suites, designed with oversized windows to provide natural light and an energy-efficient kitchen.
The hotel’s natural colour palette and open-plan public spaces provides an organic, calming atmosphere for guests.

Rooms are equipped with a high-tech work space, complimentary WiFi and keyless entry technology.
The hotel also includes a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool and complimentary rental bikes to keep guests active.
