Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed an agreement to become an official partner of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The airline will sponsor Japan’s national Olympic and Paralympic teams, which will compete from 2016 to 2020.
Japan Airlines president Yoshiharu Ueki says it is a great pleasure for the airline to be an official partner.
“All JAL staff will do our best to create the finest games in the history of the Olympics and Paralympic games, the Games that provide dreams, hopes and inspiration to future generations and contribute to the revitalisation of Japan,” Mr Ueki said.
JAL will provide air transport services for the teams and promote sport through various campaigns.
The airline also plans to further expand its activities to support sport development in the country and foster young athletes.
The Tokyo 2020 Games’ vision is to deliver “the most innovative Olympic and Paralympic Games in history and inspire positive change in the world”.
JAL aims to embody this vision while communicating their own brand values of “Tradition, Innovation, and the Spirit of Japan” to all international visitors during the events.
