In a bid to boost business tourism and as part its new Essential Abu Dhabi marketing campaign, Etihad Airways has unveiled the ‘Visit Abu Dhabi in 2011’ livery on its A330-300.
With a group of children from the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs cetre, the aircraft took off on its first trip from Abu Dhabi on a celebratory flight across the UAE, 24-7 Press Releases reported.
The airline’s chief commercial officer Peter Baumgartner said the aircraft send the message out to the world to that Abu Dhabi is not just a destination for leisure travel but also business.
"Since we launched the Essential Abu Dhabi marketing campaign with our partners, we have seen a tremendous amount of excitement and interest from people right across the globe, as well as with local audiences," Mr Baumgartner said in the online statement.
The A330-300 will be used by the airline on its European destinations including London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris and Mumbai.
