Air NZ, Richard Simmons top online views

Air New Zealand has showcased the power of utilising social media to spread the word, achieving over one million views only three days after uploading its Richard Simmons safety video on Youtube.

The airline’s general manager Mike Tod said the success of ‘Fit to Fly’, which is currently sitting at the number one more watched video in Australia and New Zealand and fourth worldwide, highlights the importance of using online social sites to increase awareness of the carrier.
“In a matter of hours the new safety video had become a global hit on YouTube, and was the ninth most tweeted about video in the world yesterday, quite extraordinary when you consider there are 140 million tweets per day,” Mr Tod said.

Last week the carrier also released a music video featuring successful rapper Snoop Dogg and the airline’s mascot puppet, Rico.
