Mr Lagarde, an industry veteran with over 25 years’ experience working for the AccorHotels brand worldwide will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 238-room hotel.
A passionate hotelier, Mr Lagarde says pleasing people is the essence of his work.
“I have a passion for great service. Nothing pleases me more than a full house, seeing the team’s efforts and preparations come to fruition and the delight on our guests’ faces,” Mr Lagarde said.
Mr Lagarde has travelled the world working as the Food & Beverage Manager in Paris’ Ibis Tour Eiffel and General Manager at Novotel Bradford, Novotel Sheffield, Novotel Madrid, Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach and most recently at Novotel Perth Langley’s 4.5 star hotel.
“You will regularly find me in the restaurant or in the bar sharing food and drinks with guests, making them try new culinary dishes.”
“I have a love for pushing the boundaries, so am looking forward to exploring new opportunities with Novotel Brisbane South Bank,” Mr Lagarde said.
Leading the charge to grow the hotel’s brand as Director of Sales and Marketing is Mandy Walsh.
“Novotel Brisbane South Bank is an exciting opportunity to build a new legacy in the heart of one of Brisbane’s most progressive destinations.
“We have big plans to grow Novotel Brisbane South Bank’s footprint, and being located right in the heart of the South Bank precinct allows us to do this.
“Guests will be within walking distance to the city’s largest culinary and cultural hubs, and we will leverage off this for visitors and future clientele,” Ms Walsh said.
Ms Walsh steps into her new role after four years tenure with AccorHotels, most recently as Associate Director of Sales for two hotels in Brisbane.
Prior to AccorHotels Ms Walsh successfully managed the corporate market segment for six hotel properties in the Northern Territory.
With a proven track record for bringing fresh innovative ideas to properties, Ms Walsh is looking forward to creating new opportunities for Novotel Brisbane South Bank.
“Having experienced a holistic view of hotel management, there is a great opportunity here to develop a progressive and attractive hub for business and leisure.
“It’s going to be a big year for us, no day will be the same, and I’m really looking forward to it,” Ms Walsh said.
Novotel Brisbane South Bank will be located on 38 Cordelia Street, on the southern banks of the Brisbane River, surrounded by 17 hectares of lush parklands, stunning city views and world class eateries including the property’s very own modern Australian venue, Spice Central.
