New York is one of the greatest cities in the world, and a tourist hot spot. Like with much American culture, we are consistently reminded of all things NYC via all forms of media. We know the street names, the neighbourhoods, and even its sporting teams.

With even the locals not having seen all of the sites, its hard to advise clients what to see in the space of 3 or 4 days.

Some quirky facts about New York:

– New York has 722 Miles of subway track

– Brown Street signs mark historical districts

– 7.25% of the worlds gold is in NY

– At 33 Thomas Street there is a skyscraper with no windows ! It was built to withstand nuclear fallout.

– Subway cars no longer required are dumped into the ocean to provide habitat for sea creatures.

– The lowline is an unused subway tunnel, that now is home to worlds first underground park!

– Under the world famous Waldorf Astoria lies a secret and unused subway station. It was built in the 1930’s for Franklin D Roosevelt.

– The hard, cold concrete and steel construction is actually home to wildlife. Hundreds of bird species survive in the city, and central park.

– Build commenced in 2018, on what will become the worlds biggest Ferris Wheel
