Following the successful debut of its sister brand Banyan Tree Hangzhou in January 2010, Angsana Hotels and Resorts will open its second branded property in China in the fourth quarter of this year. Owned and developed by Hangzhou Westbrook Investment, Angsana Hangzhou, to be operated by Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, is located at Xixi National Wetland Park in the west of Hangzhou, within walking distance to Banyan Tree Hangzhou.
A short drive from the famed West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angsana Hangzhou sits next to Westbrook Complex, a shopping arcade with restaurants and lifestyle stores. The nearby Westbrook Resort, a world-class international tourist complex hidden in the southeast corner of Xixi National Wetland Park, offers a range of luxury lifestyle facilities, providing guests plenty of opportunities to eat, shop and relax.
Privacy and a touch of luxury
Angsana Hangzhou offers an intimate setting of 59 tastefully decorated rooms promising privacy, exclusivity and a touch of luxury, ensuring guests can relax in total comfort amidst a backdrop of modern amenities infused with classic Chinese elements. Each room is decorated with either a large wooden carving panel or a picture of the olden Hangzhou, and comes equipped with an iPod docking station, a large bathtub with separated shower, as well as a balcony decorated with Chinese balustrade re-imagined for a stylish modern setting.
Relax in style
A rooftop outdoor swimming pool with hot tub and a poolside lounge on the third floor of the resort is perfect for guests looking to enjoy a swim, or sun-bathe or practice yoga by the poolside while appreciating the beautiful surroundings.
Angsana Hangzhou also offers a variety of wine and dine experiences that never cease to tantalize the taste buds: The Pavilion serves up a range of popular international dishes with indoor and outdoor seating as well as Rice Bar, a special section which offers a selection of freshly prepared rice-based favourites; Lunar Bar offers the widest selection of Shaoxing wines and cocktails in a lounge setting, and it also provides all day tea and coffee plus delicious local desserts and refreshments on complimentary basis to all in-house residents; and the poolside Breeze is the best place for a drink after a refreshing swim or could be transformed into an ideal space for special events or private functions.
The resort also offers car transfer and tour services for downtown shopping and sight-seeing at major tourist attractions at reasonable prices, as well as bicycle rentals for excursions into the Xixi Wetland and around West Lake. Touring other destinations such as museums, tea gardens and more can all be arranged by the resort.
Ideal for small private meetings
Angsana Hangzhou is furnished with three meeting rooms, ideal for small and mid-sized meetings. Angsana 1, the multi-purpose function room on the first floor, accommodates 30 people, while Angsana 2 and Angsana 3 located on the second floor are boardrooms that sit 10 persons each.
