Penang State Tourism and the Penang Chapter of the Malaysia Association of Hotels last night hosted representatives from Sydney’s travel industry for an evening of local Penang culture (and curries) as the northern Malaysian state brought a taste of Penang to the back streets of the Rocks.
Following a short cocktail event, guests gathered for a spicy networking session which culminated in generous accommodation prize draws.
Given the Malaysian state’s British colonial history, the Hero of Waterloo turned out to be an appropriate venue for the ‘Get to Know Penang’ road show.
But on a chilly winter’s night in Sydney, there was only one place on the minds of those present: the warm shores of Penang.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the key to a good Penang (not Panang) curry.
