Tourism Minister, Malarndirri McCarthy met with Mr. Chen Rong, CEO, and Mr. Chen Jianqiu, Deputy General Manager from China International Travel Service (CITS), one of the largest and most influential travel retailers in the Beijing market.
Minister McCarthy said that CITS is the number one brand name in China’s tourism industry.
“The Henderson Government has worked with CITS in cooperative campaigns and travel trade shows in the past 12 months, with future tactical cooperation scheduled this year and into 2012,” said Minister McCarthy.
“Today’s discussions gave a clearer picture of the Chinese outbound market, especially in North China. We have discussed ways in which CITS can increase its promotion of the Northern Territory in this market, which will lead to a stronger partnership with this high profile brand.”
Minister McCarthy also met with theMr Feng Bing,CEO U Tour International Travel – one of the biggest travel agencies and wholesalers in the Chinese outbound market.
“U Tour has a proven track record of selling Uluru as a destination in that market for the last two years,” said Ms McCarthy.“We know that U Tour have had a focus on high-end products in the last few years, so the Northern Territory fits well with U Tour’s audiences.”
