Unique categories tailored for local specialities and traditions
Recognising Singapore’s reputation for spectacular local cuisine, world-class shopping and overall indulgence, HotelClub has announced its winners for the 2011 HotelClub Hotel Awards in Singapore and Malaysia.
HotelClub Hotel Awards is a flagship programme that honours outstanding hotels from the most popular destinations around the world. The 2011 Singapore and Malaysia hotel award categories were uniquely tailored for specific local specialities like food and festivals. The hotel winners were selected based on genuine member reviews posted on www.hotelclub.com and through reviews by HotelClub’s on-the-ground hotel experts.
Singapore is known as a gourmet paradise with local cuisine such as chilli crab and chicken rice featuring on a world stage. With its emphasis on food and close proximity to culinary delights, Changi Village Hotel was selected as the winner for the Yummiest Spot for Chilli Crab.
As one of the many tall buildings dotting the local skyline, the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel has a panoramic view of the Marina bay area. With these spectacular sight, it’s no wonder the hotel has emerged as the winner for Top Bar for Breathtaking Views. Commenting on the premiere Ku De Ta restaurant and lounge located within the hotel, one HotelClub member said, “At 57 storeys high, overlooking the skyline and with the 150m rooftop pool, it is indeed a sight to behold, especially at night”.
If you’re in need of pampering and total relaxation, Capella Singapore Hotel at Sentosa is the place to stay. It is the winner of the Top Place to be Pampered Award. The winner in the category of Top Spot to Watch a Local Festival is the Porcelain Hotel, located on one of Chinatown’s best known historical lanes. Guests can also “soak up the atmosphere” while residents celebrate Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn festival, as well as other traditional Chinese and Indian events.
