  • Don’t just use Twitter as a sales tool, use it to learn more about your customers, what they like and dislike. It can also be a great way to provide insight into your brand and personality
  • Give your Twitter followers a reason to follow you. For example, by offering them Twitter only specials, tips, how-to guides, or sneak peek previews of an upcoming event.
  • Respond directly to positive or negative reviews
  • Monitor what your competition is saying or doing and what people are saying about your competitors
  • Share reviews and news about your hotel to the whole world. Let everyone know how much you are loved!
  • Don’t waste valuable character space with a long URL. Use bit.ly.com, TwitPwr.com or Tinyurl.com to create a shortened URL
  • Thank people who retweet your tweets
  • While you will need followers to help spread your messages and build your online community, don’t take shortcuts by buying followers. Focus on quality content first and the the people will follow
  • Identify your most influential followers on Twitter by checking their ‘clout scores’ on klout.com or twitalyzer.com and use them to help spread your message
  • Search for keywords that might help you win new business. For example, if you are a Sunshine Coast holiday accommodation provider, search for ‘sunshine coast holiday apartments’, or ‘Caloundra accommodation’ to see if anyone is looking for a recommendation.
