Amadeus, a leading transaction processor and provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, today announced that SpiceJet, India’s preferred airline, is now available to users of Amadeus e-Travel Management (AeTM), Amadeus’ online multi global distribution system (GDS) corporate booking tool.
In response to increased demand from travel managers wanting to book low cost carriers (LCCs) in India, Amadeus has created a framework that delivers SpiceJet’s full content to AeTM users via a direct API development.
The announcement marks a milestone for Amadeus, with the airline being the first of a number of Indian LCCs whose content will be made available through AeTM over the coming year, highlighting the flexible and open nature of Amadeus technology, which is used by both full service, low cost, international airlines and small and medium size carriers alike.
Users of AeTM in India will be able to book ancillary services such as in-flight meals while ensuring they are booking negotiated corporate fares. Additionally, AeTM users have flexible account payment options rather than having to input credit card details in every traveller’s profile or at the end of every booking.
