TripAdvisor appoints Leslie Chu as Head of Display Advertising Sales for Greater China

TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site*, today announced the appointment of Leslie Chu, Head of Display Advertising sales, Greater China. Based in Beijing, Leslie is responsible for driving the growth of the Display Advertising business for TripAdvisor in Greater China.

“With more than 10 million unique visitors* in Greater China coming to TripAdvisor sites every month, this region is one of our most important and fast growing,” said Cindy Tan, Vice President of Display Advertising Sales, Asia Pacific at TripAdvisor. “Through Leslie’s leadership and local market expertise, we aim to develop increasingly innovative and effective campaign solutions for clients and media agencies here and across the globe keen on targeting the Chinese audience.”

In the third quarter of 2012, the global display advertising business contributed 11 percent (US$23.6 million) of TripAdvisor’s total revenue.

TripAdvisor provides a global platform for advertisers based in Greater China to tap into the world’s largest online travel audience including mainland Chinese travellers via TripAdvisor’s official China site (www.daodao.com) and Kuxun, a leading travel metasearch site in China (www.kuxun.cn) as well as TripAdvisor sites in 29 other countries around the world. 

Leslie brings with him 13 years of marketing experience in the Internet industry. Prior to TripAdvisor, he was Country Director for Microsoft’s Advertising and Online business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
