Robert Marchetti set to take on Bali

Robert Marchetti kicks off 2013 with a major international announcement that will take his 25 years of restaurant experience in Australia overseas. Recognised for his creativity, vision and know how as one of Australia’s best restaurateurs, Marchetti has partnered up with successful businessman Made (Kadek) Wiranatha for Bali’s most exciting hotel opening of 2013, Double Six – Seminyak.

Double Six – Seminyak, due to open in December 2013, is located at Jalan Double Six, Blue Ocean Boulevard, Seminyak. The five star hotel boasts 150m of beach frontage, comprising of 146 one and two bedroom suites, eight penthouses (including one super penthouse), deluxe spa and a number of premium restaurant and bar destinations that Marchetti will conceptualise, set up and run.

Mr Wiranatha Says;

I have had a long relationship with Robert’s restaurants and food. He was a natural fit for this exciting project with his relaxed style, focus on quality and sustainability and client first philosophy.

Currently on the drawing board for Double Six – Seminyak is a Balinese hybrid of Marchetti’s wildly successful North Bondi Italian Food – Seminyak Italian Food and a colonial style steak house – Plantation Grill inspired by Raffles in the 1950’s. An amazing 1800 square meter roof cocktail bar over-looking the Indian Ocean and the Balinese shoreline will be Bali’s ultimate sunset destination serving seasonal local produce on skewers cooked on a custom made circular grill designed by Marchetti.

Marchetti says;

Wow, I am thrilled with this amazing partnership. Kadek has a vision of five star quality delivered with a relaxed refined style and a jaw dropping eye for detail. We share a love of Italian food and wine and I can’t wait to get my hands on Bali’s amazing produce and be part of such a vibrant restaurant scene with so many talented people from around the world.

This international collaboration will sit neatly alongside Marchetti’s five Australian businesses North Bondi Italian Food, QT Sydney – Gowings Bar and Grill, Parlour Lane and Gilt Lounge, Melbourne’s Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons, Bondi butcher, La Macelleria, salumi, rotisserie and butchery, small good company, Salumi by Robert Marchetti and the recently re-acquired taverna, Neild Avenue.
