Qantas network open for Emirates passengers

The two airlines launched bookings on 32 Qantas flights across Australia.

Travel agents can now book their clients on Emirates and Qantas codeshare flights, with bookings to Qantas domestic destinations now open.

After obtaining interim regulatory approval on their alliance earlier this month, the two airlines launched bookings on 32 Qantas flights across Australia, for travel from 31 March 2013.

Among the destinations include Canberra, Port Lincoln, Cairns and Hobart.

Also from 31 March, Emirates Skywards members will be able to earn Skywards Miles on Qantas international and domestic services that are part of a continuous international journey with Emirates or Qantas.

Meanwhile, the Australian regulatory body, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is still assessing the potential impact on codeshare flights between New Zealand and Australia.
