Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., has been named “Best Airline in Central America and the Caribbean” by the well-known aviation research company SkyTrax. Copa Airlines also earned honours for “Best Staff Service in Central America and the Caribbean,” which recognises onboard and airport customer service.
Considered the most prestigious awards in the aviation industry, the World Airline Awards are a benchmark of airline excellence. Skytrax results are obtained through an annual customer satisfaction survey of millions of passengers in 14 regions around the world. The review measures more than 35 elements of passenger satisfaction related to the travel experience.
The Skytrax passenger survey covers more than 200 airlines, ranging from large international air carriers to small national airlines. The survey was conducted during a 10-month period in 2012, with respondents representing more than 100 nationalities from more than 160 countries.
“We are very pleased to once again receive this important award, which demonstrates our solid commitment to excellence in customer service and our leadership in the region”, said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines. “This award is the result of the world-class service for which we are known, and the effort of our coworkers, who continually strive for excellence to enhance the passenger travel experience”.
This is the sixth time in the last 10 years that Copa Airlines has received the “Best Airline in Central America and the Caribbean” award and the fifth time that it has earned honours for “Best Staff Service in Central America and the Caribbean”.
